Archeology

The Renaissance and Reformation Archeologist

In the Renaissance and Reformation, there were several famous artists. Scientists discovered some famous paintings made by famous artists, such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Albrecht Durer, Vincent Van Gogh, and El Greco. Archeologists have done many things to prove elements of society. Famous artists painted portraits of those who were wealthy. Also, that person would only have one portrait painted in their lives. The person in the portrait would have to sit for hours or for several days while the artist captured their likeness. With the painting The Mona Lisa, Leonardo Da Vinci invented an entirely new formula for a portrait. The face is frontal, the shoulders are turned three-quarters toward the viewer, and the hands are included in the picture. With Da Vinci, the new formula for The Mona Lisa is one of the world's most famous masterpiece. Paintings showed what happened during the times of the Renaissance and Reformation. It also helped archeologists discover new painting techniques.

The Starry Night is a painting from Vincent Van Gogh. The painting was depicting expressions of feelings. Back during the Renaissance and Reformation times, a lot of artists liked to express their feelings in their art work. For example, if the artist is feeling happy, they paint a beautiful picture and if they're upset, they would paint a nightmare. Some artists still express their feelings in there art work. This helped archeologists find out how they liked to paint during certain times when they felt a certain feeling.
